Hi!! So, on Wednesday our group was trying to cook amazing American dishes with the help of a great American lady called Stacie. I want to say a few words about her. It felt so easy talking to her, it was a really great experience indeed. The story of her life is astounding, I always get so inspired by the stories of people who were ready to step into the unknown for making their dream come true. Thanks to this woman who taught us, just fourteen freshmen who study English, how to cook some dishes from another continent. She told us our English was good, and you know what, she even laughed at some of my jokes! By the way, I told her about the coleslaw I’d made. When I mentioned it, she got so excited and said she was glad by the fact that we were so interested in the American dishes and culture. And, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Nothing feels better than talking to a native speaker in your target language. And that’s a fact.

So, the dishes we were trying to cook were these: a tuna salad, brownies, a chicken pot pie. Kate and I were in charge of making the dough for the chicken pie and Ivan and Stasya were making the stuffing for it.

Frankly speaking, the dough was a bit bland but still I liked the pie as much as I liked everything we cooked. Everyone was so involved in the process and it felt like we were one big team in some restaurant.

The recipe of the dough was really simple: we only needed flour, salt, butter, and cold water. Well, maybe that’s why it was so tasteless. We had to knead the dough and roll it out so that it had to be really thin.

The brownies, the salad, the two pies were great! I’m not a person who is strict to food, I just eat and like everything(except dried plums, they’re gross).

In conclusion i’d like to say that it was a good day, we had so much fun with Stacie, her dog and turtles. Also, we really want to go to that horseback riding competition which is going to happen on the 15th of June. It’ll be our day off.

Thanks to Ms.B for letting us skip the classes and for this opportunity. Thanks a milion.
